Summer, sun, mask

Summer is popular because for most of us it means holidays – and yet it makes plenty of people sweat.

But when the weather doesn't play along in full summer mode, frustration is never far away. Luckily there have always been plenty of remedies that guarantee relaxed fun regardless of thunderstorms, mosquito plagues and mask requirements. So a “Kleine Pause” – a little break – is always guaranteed!

Kleine Pause – the light and healthy snack

Yes, the base for a tasty and sustainable time-out is called “Kleine Pause” and can be found in Nuremberg and Forchheim.

Here the name says it all: simply treat yourself to a break and do your body some good. That's the luxury the Kleine Pause teams offer. On site, to order or to take away, there are individually combinable treats made from over 40 ingredients. Salads, wraps, panini and baked potatoes are fixtures on the menu, joined by changing seasonal specials. With regional produce, naturally, and available in returnable bowls that guarantee reuse.

We had the pleasure of designing and building the new website, and have already supplied matching workwear and a number of fit-out elements such as illuminated signage for the young business. Well worth a look: kleinepause.de

Creativity banishes boredom

As a hybrid agency we don't just produce and program – no, for us everything begins with the creative process. And if that makes you think of brainstorming, we're issuing a storm warning right away.

“The best ideas don't come during a brainstorming session but afterwards – at least as long as you're sitting with people you'd happily have a beer with anyway.” (US psychologist John Kounios). So let's turn to more efficient creative techniques instead. The number of participants and the space available naturally play a role here, as does the goal you've set.

One example that can be applied without much effort is the 6-3-5 method. It's suited both to finding initial ideas and to enriching ideas in a targeted way, and it usually works spontaneously even with inexperienced participants. As a problem-solving technique, it delivers new, unusual ideas in a group of ideally six people. In concrete terms: each idea-finder develops three approaches on an identical worksheet within a defined time. The sheet is then passed on clockwise. Now everyone tries to pick up, add to or develop the ideas already sketched, entering their three new ideas in the next free row. This happens five times – hence 6-3-5. Do give it a try when the first participants in your brainstorming session start nodding off because they're not being challenged.

Or come straight to us with a brief that we'll turn into creative work for you. Our communication professionals will put their heads together. In the end, the ideas can be visualised very quickly as scribbles and first headlines and slogans. We look forward to your enquiry.

International Rock Paper Scissors Day

Often the simplest things in life are the best. Rock paper scissors, loved the world over, can be played anywhere without elaborate equipment – at the drop of a hat!

No wonder there's even a global day dedicated to it, initiated by the World Rock Paper Scissors Association (WRPSA).

The fun knows no age limit either, and it's wonderfully useful for reaching quick decisions. “Loser buys this round!” Some sharp-witted players may conjure the well from up their sleeve, but the three basic elements are entirely sufficient to experience play and suspense in the truest sense.

At hi brands, the day inspires us to think about the variety of materials. And we've noticed that we can draw on a network that offers us far more than scissors, rocks and paper. So we've put together a few original examples for you, which can of course serve as inspiration for your next client campaigns – right through to Christmas gifts. Find out more on our social media channels and in our upcoming product newsletter.

Until then, happy browsing.
